Hi, I’m Miguel. I am a mastering engineer, studio designer, and educator with over two decades of experience in the pro audio industry. My work covers the full spectrum of sound production, from the acoustic design of a room to the final details of a master.

My work as a mastering engineer
I have been mastering records since 2010. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with both major and independent labels, collaborating with emerging artists as well as established acts across a wide variety of genres.
I am a founding member of Estúdios Sá da Bandeira, Bender Mastering Studio and Arda Recorders, where I established my studio early on. I am also the founder of Knurl Mastering, where I currently work.

My work as a studio designer
My design work spans from large-scale recording facilities and multi-room complexes to critical listening environments for mixing and mastering. Beyond the music industry, I work in industrial acoustics, applying these principles to the design of products for brands in other sectors.

Beyond the studio, I am active in audio education and publishing. I have taught at various colleges and specialized schools, covering both the technical and musical aspects of production. I am the author of the book Sistemas e Técnicas de Produção Áudio and have contributed regularly to pro audio magazines.
